If I fire up eddie, and the config directory is missing[1] (or if there are config file problems), I'd like to have a way of detecting it in the console. Come to think of it maybe it even makes more sense if Eddie refused to run with config file -related problmes...

[1] Actually, in my case it's a symlink /local/lib/eddie-0.28/config -> /etc/eddie, and the directory /etc/eddie is missing.
